Precisely. But trying to posit this as the solution to our societal problems, sadly, is a concept not easily placed into a soundbite. And, it seems, that soundbites are all that we spoiled Americans can absorb. Our media is complicit (I'm working on a post about this topic now) in the dumbing-down of the politically-involved American citizen. It is evident in the reporting after a shooting event. It's never the devaluation of the father, the mother or the family though in almost every case the shooter is a mess because his family is a mess. I think there is, at least, more conversation about this important topic with the rise of people like Jordan Peterson, Jesse Kelly, and conservative media generally.
